Bluetooth Simple fix for iPhone 1.1.4

March 28, 2008

While iPhone update 1.1.4 repaired a few critical Bluetooth issues brought out on the firmware version 1.1.3 — including inconsistency on couple GPS units from Garmin (StreetPilot C550, Nuvi 360, 760, etc.) — it also introduced the inability to use Bluetooth completely for a lot of users. Luckily, all the users we have talked with, who came across these same problems had succeed with this simple fix: Toggling Airplane Mode off and on. To do this, release the Bluetooth off, and then navigate to Settings, and so slide Airplane Mode to On, hold a couple of secs, and then slide it back to Off. It appears that stopping and resuming the EDGE and WiFi components in the iPhone can repair the Bluetooth connectivity.
